South Jersey Gas to Continue Construction in Pleasantville as Part of Safety and Reliability Enhancements

FOLSOM, N.J., June 22, 2017 – South Jersey Gas wants to advise residents, business owners, and motorists in the City of Pleasantville that continued construction work will begin on or about Wednesday, July 5 (weather permitting) to enhance its infrastructure as part of the Accelerated Infrastructure Replacement Program. The work is expected to be completed by December 2017.

Installation of 2” and 4” yellow plastic natural gas mains will take place along Linden Avenue,
Martin Terrace, W. Mulberry Avenue, Brighton Avenue, Wellington Avenue, Oxford Avenue, Balfour
Avenue, N. New Road (SR #9), N. Main Street (CR #585), Martin Terrace, W. Delilah Road, W. Thompson
Avenue, W. Lindley Avenue, Princeton Avenue, Cedarcrest Avenue, Redwood Avenue, E. California
Avenue, N. Franklin Boulevard, Elmhurst Avenue, 7th Avenue, Ocean Avenue, Larchmont Drive, Montclair
Drive, Bellevue Parkway, and associated side streets.

The program’s primary focus is the accelerated replacement of aging bare steel mains with more
durable plastic pipe, providing significant safety and reliability benefits for customers.

All excavations will be restored on a daily basis. A temporary repair will be made in most cases until
the final restoration occurs. Openings in concrete will be temporarily patched with asphalt until final
restoration with concrete occurs. Openings made in the grass during the fall and winter seasons may not be restored until there is warmer weather to facilitate grass growth. Final restorations and paving in the area are anticipated to be completed by spring 2018. All restorations are completed in compliance with local and county regulations.

South Jersey Gas or its contractors will contact customers to gain access to properties with gas
service to complete this work. Crews will work Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
There is also a possibility that work will be performed on some Saturdays to accommodate customer
appointments, with the city’s approval. If residents have questions or would like more information about this project, please contact the South Jersey Gas Atlantic Division at (609) 645-2690 and reference the
Pleasantville Grids 3 and 4 Project.
