Our Community Programs

Game On Grant Program

Our Game On Grant Program is designed to provide support for local, community-centered athletic leagues, and recreational organizations for children.

The program awards 20, $1,000 grants to randomly selected applicants who meet certain criteria:

  • Each league must serve youth between the ages of 4 and 18 within the boundaries of South Jersey Gas’ service area.
  • The league must be organized around traditional youth sports, which include but are not limited to Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Football, Basketball, Cheerleading, Lacrosse, and Swimming

First Responders Grant Program

Our First Responders Grant Program is intended to provide critical support for operations conducted by first responder departments.

The program awards 20, $1,000 grants to randomly selected applicants who meet certain criteria: 

  • Each first responder department must be comprised of paid staff or volunteers that serve within the South Jersey Gas service area 
  • The grant must be used to fund training or purchase/upgrade gear and equipment utilized to protect volunteer fire and/or EMS personnel, police, and/or the community

Sustainable Jersey 

South Jersey Gas is a sponsor of Sustainable Jersey, a certification program for municipalities in New Jersey that want to go green, save money and take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term.

The organization works to:

  • Identify concrete actions that municipalities can implement to become certified and be considered leaders on the path to sustainable communities
  • Provide clear “how to” guidance and tools to enable communities to make progress on each action
  • Allow access to grants and identifies existing and new funding opportunities for municipalities to make progress toward the following values: 
    • Prosperity: Support your local economy and use community resources
    • Planet: Practice responsible environmental management and conservation
    • People: Embrace social equity and fairness
