South Jersey Gas is pleased to support Sustainable Jersey, a network of municipalities, schools and school districts working collectively to create a sustainable New Jersey. Throughout the state, Sustainable Jersey supports registered “green teams” of individuals who represent various municipalities and provide the leadership to plan, conduct programs and assist with educational opportunities that support sustainability.
Sustainable Jersey can help residents and businesses get involved and develop their own green teams; they provide valuable instruction about how to maximize both residential and commercial energy efficiency. Interested? Contact Sustainable Jersey by phone, (609) 771-2938, or email, info@sustainablejersey.com.
Patrick McDevitt, Energy Efficiency Analyst at South Jersey Gas, is the staff liaison for Sustainability Jersey. Patrick is committed to building sustainable communities and invests time in meeting with Sustainable Jersey green teams to develop efforts to reach local residents and businesses. Since 2013, he has coordinated the green team in his hometown of Monroe Township in Gloucester County. Monroe Township is Bronze Certified by Sustainable Jersey – a designation that recognizes a municipality has made a commitment to sustainability and has successfully implemented initial significant steps in the program.
Energy efficiency upgrades save energy and money and provide environmental benefits. Energy efficiency measures also address health, comfort, and safety issues in homes and businesses.
