Call Before You Dig!
It’s a great time to send a friendly reminder to call the NJ Safe Digging Hotline 8-1-1 or visit call811.com before digging on your property.
Call at least three business days before you dig to ensure that all underground utility lines are marked with flags or paint so you don’t accidentally damage an underground line. Be safe.

New Utility Bill Assistance Opportunities

Utility Assistance programs are changing October 1 with expanded eligibility and increased monthly benefit amounts. The Universal Service Fund (USF) and Fresh Start Program have significant changes for a two-year period to assist families who have experienced challenges due to the pandemic.
Keep an eye out for new information on time-sensitive assistance offers in the mail. The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and local county offices have information about accessing federal relief funds to pay off over-due utility and rent bills. LIHEAP Recipients should also keep an eye out for your recertification mailers.
If you are struggling financially, or know a family that is, please visit southjerseygas.com/energyassistance for more information.
